This race is a real beauty, I went not for time but for the views and I do not regret it. The course per se is very nice and has a lot of sand (so if you are not used to it, IT WILL BE HARD!!!) but if you have run on loose sand, then you wont have a problem.
The course is well marked so you dont have to worry of getting lost. Has one hard climb and the rest are little rolling hills (again, lots of loose sand), and the aid stations are well stocked and full of great volunteers. The Navajo tribe are very friendly people and you will enjoy for sure this race. Again I went to enjoy the run and the scenery not to beat a PR, if that is your thing the first place on the 50M Finished in 6+ hours, so it does have challenge.

This race was in a very good location with very little hills, good for first timers. The aid stations are super well stocked and with very helpful and pleasant volunteers that are there to make your running experience much easy. There are not many spectacular views, but the flora of the place is quite pleasant and it does give you a feel of running in the wild west. The race is well organized and the trail has very good markings so you cant get lost unless you are really looking to do so. There is a small section of pavement so I cant say its a 100% trail, but for the most part it is. The finishing area is well stocked with food and beverage so there is plenty for everyone. Overall is a good race to do once as a first 50k or if you are looking to set and break your PR

This race has all that you could ask for a trail half marathon. Excellent coordination, Great volunteers, Magnificent organization, awesome swag and the most Phenomenal location. The trail has plenty of difficulty for everyone but it is also friendly for beginners. Views are great and the aid stations were very well stock and also had volunteers that will give you extra boost in case you are low on it. Cant wait to do this race again next year. Kudos to all that made this event possible

This race was my second Ultra and honestly I wasnt ready for it. The race takes the first half uphill to 2 peaks being the last one close to 7200 ft and the first one 6900. There as good technical going on the second hill and a lot on the first one. Be used to running on hills and also on high temperature. There is little to no shade and its in a very hot month, so be careful with that I saw a lot of runners struggle with the heat and also with the hills going up and down. The aid stations are stocked but when I started going down they already ran out of cold water and ice, it was hard for me to cool down and this was my biggest problem. I was the last runner to cross officially with time on the race. Not my fastest one, but cant complain since it was only my second ultra, pretty sure that if I try this race again I would perform much better than this time. Overall is a good race to do and for sure not a good one to be your first ultra, unless you are well trained for it

This was my first Ultra and I couldnt have been happier. This course is beautiful and near an iconic national park. There are hills and downhills that make this race beautiful and challenging for novice and experts alike. The aid stations are well stocked and the volunteers rock them with an awesome attitude. Towards the end of the race you will take a small loop that is the highlight of this race and that is experiencing sequoias…these threes are amazing and impressive. There course is in a month that if its overcast the temperatures will be very pleasant through out the day. there is no swag for finishing but who cares, the views and the experience of this race is what matters. The markings on the trail are visible and there is always people around. For sure will do this race again
