This is a great race for the whole family! My son participated in the kids dash and my family ran in both the 5K and 10k races. The staff and organizers were very friendly. There were plenty of bathrooms, although they should have clear signs for the two lines of the bathrooms – that would be really helpful!
The route was clearly marked with organizers and volunteers along the way to help guide runners. I thought there were adequate fueling/water stations although I run with everything I need so I didn’t have to stop.
Once you finish, they had plenty of snacks and a full hydration station that included both water and Gatorade. They also had quesadillas that you could get after you finished. I love the finisher medal and it’s so cool that the kids also received the same medal.
This is the first race that I’ve run where the start time wasn’t until 9 AM or later. The weather was over 90° that day so it did make for a very hot run. That was really the only downfall but everything else was great.

A lot of the things I had issues with might be because there was too many people for this course (over 500 people). Start line was too small and not roped off long enough to really get a long starting line, I did not hear any communication about families/walkers/ strollers staying towards the back or staying to the right and it was very difficult to get on pace at the beginning of the race. Once we got up to the river front trail the 5K racers group was so big there was no room for bikers using the public trail or returning 10k/half/ full marathon/ racers. It was dangerous at parts with returning runners having to go off the pace trail. I was disappointed there was zero water stations during the 5K portion of the map.
Inteterested to see the photos, I do not think I saw any on course photography during the 5k, only at the finish line.
Upon crossing the finish line, it was so hard for me to find water!! It was so far away and the finish line was so crowded. I like the races where the finishing lane is blocked off longer for racers to finish, grab water, and keep walking down the lane without non racers blocking. The line for quesadillas was also so long that we skipped it.

Beautiful course scenery, available and affordable parking. Definition of a ‘fun run.’ Having participated in larger races I was mildly annoyed about lack of signage & messaging to participants. For example, the water/snack table was about as far as it could get from the finish line and unmarked. I had to spot a group with post race Bananas to ask them where the table was!
With 2 races using the same path it would have been helpful to have messaging for walkers, and large groups with strollers to stage at the END of the starting line, NOT the beginning. I would have PRd if I had been able to safely pass 50+ walkers and families with strollers without endangering the 10k runners going the opposite direction on the same path.

Puts on a good event usually. I think he was burnt out on this race. It was still very good. I go to all the races that him and his wife put on.

This was a very easy course, all flat. The park it starts and ends in was very nice and easy to get to. They had live music, free snacks & beer. I would have gave the swag 5 stars but they didn’t have the medals at the end of the race due to shipping. The free t-shirt was nice & the official race photography photos were free! this was a huge plus for me and they came out great. The course is nice though the waterfront but nothing to scenic.
