About Me

  • Running club(s):

    Night Shift Brewing Run Club

  • Rave race:

    Glacier Half Marathon

  • Race that's calling my name:

    Boston Marathon; Mad River Marathon

  • I run because:

    Meditation was a big factor through my 20’s, and now in my 30’s it’s more for the thrill and excitement.  I run to better myself physically, to better my body, and for the utter enjoyment of the motion.  The more people involved, the better.  There is NOTHING like the experience of running with a partner and feeding off one another, each bettering the other.

This is a gorgeous course! Running along Glacier National Park, this race climbs 5,000 feet in 5 miles, and then descends 5,000 feet in 5 miles. The last 3 miles are rolling until the finish on a field. Truly stunning views as you climb through the race, over looking Two Medicine! The race makes the runners camp over night and take a bus at 5am from the fair grounds.

From the start, the ocean is to your left for a mile or two. Then the course breaks to the right and you’re running under foliage until you hit a main road for a little while. Back to the beach road, and up to a light house point, turn around and run along the ocean to your right the rest of the way!

Amazing countryside race. Severely hilly. Beautiful covered bridges. Mountains. Very tiring, but completely worth it! Beginning starts on the main street, turns to cross a covered bridge, and then the hills begin… and continue. AND CONTINUE! Then a harsh downhill, some flat, another covered bridge. Rolling from here until a 2-3 mile down hill and finish up the main street.

A rolling course with plenty to see. Production is great! Pre race is organized. Busses from parking areas around Boston bring you to the start. Lots of bathrooms. Lots of lines for the bathrooms. For a half marathon, the post-race food and nourishment is amazing! Would expect this at the end of a marathon.
