I would have performed better if I trained more, proud of what I did accomplish with some standing water. Small crowd, I think only 300 participants allowed. Not a lot of parking and carpooling was encouraged. Nice t shirt. Love the simplicity of the run. Thank you sponsors.

It rained the day and night before, yet Jesse and Daniel found a way for this course to work! The laps looped around a park area on one side/ residential area, the paved walkway also had the friendliest cat I have ever met, everyone on the course would agree. at the Turn around is a small zoo, we saw the Rhino and a Zebra too!!! The mud at the start was not so bad in comparison to the fun we had passing each other, completing laps and sharing stories along the way. Mainly marathons organization and fun level exceeded all my expectations! Fun meter 10+ in my book.

Loved the Route for our laps, beautiful scenery, in the first 2 miles we spotted 2 white tail deer, continued along this gorgeous riverside walkway, well marked cones for the turn arounds. Best part of Mainly Marathons is all the support from fellow walkers and runners. Jesse, Daniel and the volunteers make everyone feel welcome. We had a blast!! Rubber bands concept is fun also.

History of five athletes is Legendary- I had know idea until I did this race. The Willamette River and breweries were my initial draw. Crossing the bridges miles 11-12 was the highlight for me. The gradual hills got me- please train for lots of gradual hills and you will Do well. Finish food was already in a bag, banana and trail mix, bagel and a cookie. Plus you receive your own reusable water bottle filled with water, the medal was a piece of the old Hayfield stadium, a treasure. And crossing the finish line on the state of the art track and filed inside the new stadium! Wow- made me feel like an Olympic star!

Besides the most friendly respectful race staff, residents are helpful. A visit to the Lincoln Museum is a must. I learned so much about President Lincoln and his life! He is buried there. Lived 25 years in Springfield. What a life! Tour his home too. Park staff are knowledgeable. The run itself- beautiful course. I would do it again. The hills did not bother me, trained well.

I loved the scenery and all the things to do in and around the Bass Pro shop.
My performance was not good, as I was so busy enjoying myself. A Definite must for anyone who loves the outdoors and fishes, hunts, bring the family. Enjoyed eating at the Hemingway restaurant.
Its a great location!!

Wonderful route out and back, volunteers were friendly and well informed.
It was pouring rain for some of the event…. drizzled all the time. Yet we had a great time, even though it was a little muddy in spots, lots of water, lots of support. delicious pizza at the finish line with fruit and other snacks. A must do for the scenery alone- especially if you love trails! No pavement anywhere. My 60th half

Honestly, we were lucky the sun came out… started at 53 degrees. Terrific support and weather. Really enjoyed the trails through the trees.
Wish there was a few more coastal areas we could see coast, however, then I would have to sacrifice the shade, which seemed perfectly placed.

Felt like I was out walking with a friend, decided I was not going to PR. Fun route, well maintained, 700 volunteers! Well supported – water readily available. Up and back easy course. Colder weather was fine for running. I would do it again to see the tall pines. I loved the trails. Multi purpose trail with posting on etiquette.

Even the cattle are happy in this place. Every view looks like a painting- except it’s real!! The mountains, the food at all the local places, delicious, most expensive trip to date, worth every Penny. It’s one of the best places on Earth. Pricey though. Loved going to Jenny Lake- take the time to go there, Nike hike and beautiful views.
