This was a smaller race with less hubbub surrounding logistics. The start time for the 8K runners was TBD in the pre-race communications up until the race started. We arrived at 7 and the race kicked off around 7:20. There were few cheerers, likely because of the pouring rain. But this was an easy course and race overall.

This was a fast and easy course with a total ascent of only 43 ft. With the course being flat on paved roads, plus my body’s desire to get out of the 30 degree temps, I ran a personal best on this course. The swag left something ton be desired; instead of a medal we got (very) small tin Christmas tree ornaments.

This race is on a beautiful course and gives you the chance to explore the grounds of gorgeous Mt. Vernon. But it is consistently oversubscribed and the start line is a bit of a mess. Overall, it’s a nice community race at a higher price point.

This was a low-key fun rail trail course to run with family on Thanksgiving morning. The course is flat winding through some neighborhoods.
The race organizers started to disassemble the timing equipment after the 30 minute mark, even as people were crossing the finish line. They never mentioned a course time limit, so this came as a disappointing surprise for some of us trying to find our times online after the race.

This was by far the toughest course I’ve ever run, but the organization of Baltimore Running Fest makes the race and the whole weekend feel like an immersive experience for runners of all skill levels. This was a fun one, and I’d like to take on the challenge of this race again.

I ran this because I loved the 10k course. This has both the 10 Milers and 10k-ers running the same course until the 10k-ers break off to finish after Mile 6. The course was a little overcrowded before the races split up, making it hard to break out of the waves for the first 6 miles. But overall would return because the rolling hills are a nice way to start the day!

I ran this race in 2021. The location is unique leading to cool scenery, but the organization of the race was rough.
When the 5k runners started, we were met by an understandably ticked off group of marathoners returning from their long race. They had to bob and weave in and out of the wave of 5k runners, leading to frustration on both sides.
The timing system didn’t seem to work well. The results were uploaded then deleted then uploaded and deleted throughout the afternoon following the race.
We were told winners of their divisions would receive prizes in the mail, but no prize came. Overall I did not register to run this race again in 2022.
