“10” in the running world is a huge deal – whether it’s kilometers or miles. You choose to run a 10k or 10 miler. Use this race as a first time to hit “10” in your running career, achieve a personal best in the “10“, or use “10” as a benchmark for other fall races. The question is, which 10 are YOU up to? There’s even a 1.0 mile fun run/walk so that the entire family can join in on the fun of race day! Meet us at South Lakes HS for the Perfect 10 presented by Fidelity Investments!
SWAG: Each registered participant will receive a Commemorative Race Shirt.
FINISHER’S MEDAL: You won’t want to miss this! All finishers, both 10 Mile and 10k, will receive a one-of-a-kind, ‘perfectly’ made finisher’s medal!
COURSE TIME LIMIT: The time limit for 10 miler is 2:15 (one must maintain 13:30 minute miles). There is no time limit for the 10k.
WATER STOPS: For the 10k, there will be one water stop at mile 3. For the 10 Miler, there will be water at mile 3, 6, and 8.5. Mile 6 will also have Gatorade.
POST-RACE FUN: Look forward to food, music, and awards at the finish area!
AWESOME AWARDS: There will be CASH awards to the top 3 overall males and females in the 10 miler: 1st: $300, 2nd: $200, 3rd: $100.The top 3 overall male and female 10k finishers will receive awards, as well as to the top 3 males and females in the following age groups for both the 10 miler and 10k: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over.
PHOTOS: FREE high resolution race photos will be available for download from the Potomac River Running Flash Frame Photo page. Keep an eye out for our on course/finish line photographer and be prepared to strike a pose! We will send an email notifying you when the pictures are ready to be shared. Photos are searchable by bib number and/or key words on your outfit. For best results please wear your bib on your front, outer most layer. This will also help ensure accurate timing.

I ran this because I loved the 10k course. This has both the 10 Milers and 10k-ers running the same course until the 10k-ers break off to finish after Mile 6. The course was a little overcrowded before the races split up, making it hard to break out of the waves for the first 6 miles. But overall would return because the rolling hills are a nice way to start the day!
