I love running and running is how I find peace…with that being said! this run is for those who just like to have a good time. If you care about your personal speed, stats, etc..this race isn’t for you. It seems like most of the runners participate mainly for their love of Disney, which is fine, however, I participated first because I LOVE running. The course is really congested, with an average of 17k participants, the majority seem to be none runners…A lot of people stop and walk right in front of you, they never look back or move to the side or even raise a hand! I found this to be very dangerous. Sometimes it would be a row of 5 people, casually walking.
The production was amazing-it is Disney! the swag was nice and the medal was really cute!

Also! it’s important to note- showtime for the race is around 3:30-4am with a run start time of appt 5am, but that doesn’t mean you start at that time because you’re grouped by corrals (A-E) and within the corrals they have start waves.

A storm was expected so they adjusted the start time & shortened the distance to 7 miles. It was very crowded on the course & almost half the participants walked the majority of the race. One complaint is-many runners weren’t using race etiquette and stopping & walking in front of people instead of moving to the opposite side of the path. This is a complaint because it’s dangerous for those actually running the course.

This was my first Run Disney race and I really enjoyed it. I realized running Disney is completely different from any other race i’ve done and I’m still learning as the days go on. I love how everything is coordinated for this race, the race expo was amazing! the race items to purchase were also nice. For any first time Disney runners, my suggestion would be to do as much research as you can about the event- i’m talking FB groups, IG groups, Tik Tok Videos, YouTube videos, Podcasts, all of it. I did all of these and I still didn’t know as much as I wanted to about the weekend and all everything available. The basics are outlined in the very descriptive race guide, however, i’m referring to things people would only know if they’ve run Disney several times. I signed up for additional Disney runs and i’m looking forward to each and every one! Oh the character stops were also really cool and even though I didn’t stop, I really enjoyed seeing them along the way.

This race had the potential to be amazing, however, rain and poor production played a role in the opposite of that happening. I understand they couldn’t control the rain, however, they lacked communication the morning of the race and runners were outside in the storm waiting for an update. It took them forever to make a final decision even though it was clearly unsafe. Once a decision was made, they only communicated through FACEBOOK. They didn’t offer a refund, they did offer the option to leave the necklace and defer to next years race or transfer to the race in Key West. The expo was in a park in the extreme heat with minimal vendors, considering this was a “luxury race”. The items to purchase were minimal. The Lululemon shirts ran extremely small, at the end of the race Mimosa’s were to be handed out. At the necklace pickup we were allowed to have the mimosas and the breakfast. The orange juice and champagne were the cheapest available. I don’t have an issue with this, however, this race was a luxury race, that had a lottery for entry and cost over $200 and the orange juice was the one you can find on the shelf that isn’t refrigerated and the champagne is Ande. I was under the impression this race was a little more upscale than what was actually delivered. This race was cancelled due to inclement weather, however, the planning, and production didn’t align with what was portrayed.

I really enjoyed this race, this year it was going on at the same time as the Taste of Chicago. The meal was nice and the view was amazing, as a Chicago native I loved running on the lake watching the sun continue to rise.

I really enjoyed this race and everything it supports. The course was on a running path, however, the day of the race it was really humid and hot! The swag for the race was really good and the medal was AMAZING!! the after party/food was good, several options to choose from. I plan on running this race every year as long as I’m living in Mississippi because of the cause it supports.

This was my first and won’t be my last! I loved this race, the energy was high, everyone was so positive and happy in true New Orleans fashion. The course wasn’t bad, they also provided transportation to and from the start. The finisher party was AMAZING!! the food was sooooo good, and it was so many people. It felt like I was at a festival instead of a race finisher party. I really enjoyed this race. My time could’ve been faster, but my 13 year old came with me and she’s not a runner, however, that’s also the beauty of this race, it’s for all stages of fitness.

I enjoyed this race, this was my first time in Lafayette and I really enjoyed the area downtown. The route of the race was nice, and the participants were all excited and happy. The weather was great! A little warm but it was nice. The route was easy not hilly. And the food at the finish was amazing! I’ll be back!

This was my very first half marathon ever! I really enjoyed this race, race day was rainy but the temperature was nice. It was nice to run right next to the beach and watch as the sun continued to rise. One thing I wasn’t a fan about was running on the same road as some vehicles, it just made me a little nervous and I know I had to be more alert about where I was running. Overall, I really had a great time and I plan to participate again!
