It was pouring rain and flooding. The decision was made to cancel the race but not til traffic was piled up (would not open gates to let people park instead we sat in traffic for two hours- finally got parked and walked to start, race organizers were posting on facebook that race would start in 15minutes. So everyone prepared to start (port a potties, ponchos, etc) everyone was soaking wet like wring your socks out wet and then – they cancelled race. No email communication til later. Posted on facebook- Mass confusion. Did not even attempt to move race to afternoon. Should have called it before all my gear got wet and then we could have at least ran it on our own that afternoon. We traveled five hours and didn’t have any dry running shoes to attempt this. No refund offered only to defer to next year without knowing the date OR can pickup swag. I do not recommend this company. Save your money and run with a better company

It was flooding. Had been flooding. They decided to not call the race so we all had to drag ourselves out there in the rain. No music set up. They put the truck in the covered area and so we all had to stand outside in the heavy flooding rain. They then delayed the race. Then, finally, they cancelled based on a city official finally waking up. The course was around a lake that had already been shut down. No one could have run that race. Then instead of bringing the stuff to us they made us go get it at 11 in the rain again. Well, they told us there was an option to get the swag if we gave our address. I did that option as I was working AND freezing from soaking. Only got one item from the swag. Most expensive race I’ve ever had. Worst production ever. I’ve run events and I am positive I could have done a better job with my hands tied behind my back and a blind fold. Terrible.

This race had the potential to be amazing, however, rain and poor production played a role in the opposite of that happening. I understand they couldn’t control the rain, however, they lacked communication the morning of the race and runners were outside in the storm waiting for an update. It took them forever to make a final decision even though it was clearly unsafe. Once a decision was made, they only communicated through FACEBOOK. They didn’t offer a refund, they did offer the option to leave the necklace and defer to next years race or transfer to the race in Key West. The expo was in a park in the extreme heat with minimal vendors, considering this was a “luxury race”. The items to purchase were minimal. The Lululemon shirts ran extremely small, at the end of the race Mimosa’s were to be handed out. At the necklace pickup we were allowed to have the mimosas and the breakfast. The orange juice and champagne were the cheapest available. I don’t have an issue with this, however, this race was a luxury race, that had a lottery for entry and cost over $200 and the orange juice was the one you can find on the shelf that isn’t refrigerated and the champagne is Ande. I was under the impression this race was a little more upscale than what was actually delivered. This race was cancelled due to inclement weather, however, the planning, and production didn’t align with what was portrayed.
