You park at the finish line and are bused to the start line. I generally hate relying on buses for transport but it was incredibly easy and organized. We were nervous about getting to the start on time and got an earlier bus and were a little cold waiting at the start for 45 min but we could have brought extra clothes and put them in the super efficient mobile lockers that were driven to the finish line. The course and weather were beautiful and I even stopped a few times to take photos of the ocean.

The race time changed and it was my own fault I didn’t see it. My husband and I got to check in as everyone else started. The organizers were nice enough to let us start running. We both took off just holding our race bibs: it will be a race to remember! We came to CT for a vacation and to see the fall leaves. This course is gorgeous in the fall and had no real hills. Fun course overall.

Crazy crowds of people with lots of veterans and active duty military. Not a difficult run, but you get to run past great scenery in DC. I’ve run the race 3x as it’s a great place to meet up with old friends and a chill 10 mile run.

This was my first 1/2 marathon. It’s a very slight downhill for the majority of the whole run. It’s on a rail to trail path with a few road crossings which all had volunteers to help cross. Not a lot of people so there were times where I couldn’t see anyone else on the course. It was super chill. I would definitely run it again.
