Loring Air Force Base was near and dear to so many before closing in 1994. For those who served, it was their home away from home. While the winters could be long and cold, the hearts of all were warm. From the 42nd Air Base Wing, to B-52G Stratofortresses and KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft, to the North River Depot- Loring has a rich history of excellence.

The Moose Is Loose At Loring pays homage to the men and women who answered the call of their Nation. This unique event offers a 5K Run or Walk and 10K Run on Runways 1R/19L and 1L/19R! That’s right, you’ll be able to run the runway where these historic aircraft once took flight, and without vehicular traffic! You will receive a commemorative shirt, personalized bib, awesome finishers medal, chip timing, and an awesome race experience!

Shirts are available for the first 100 registrants on a first come sizing basis. Additional shirts are available through the store. 

We are also welcoming those from around the World to join as Virtual Participants!  You will still receive the same goodies, which will be mailed the week prior to the event.  Additionally, we will be using RaceJoy to further enhance your experience from afar!
