Vacation Race did a great job on organizing this event! From shuttling runners and spectators to the race guide and e-mails send out beforehand, I had no questions since it was all very detailed! In my opinion Zion is a great first race for anyone wanting to do their first half. The views were great but not as amazing as some of the other Vacation Races I’ve done (Glacier). I would highly recommend running Zion and exploring Zion National Park, because it is glorious inside! I also PR so that was a great bonus for me!

I signed up for this race only because the medal glows in the dark, and boy let me tell you it was the hardest half marathon I’ve ever done. I did enjoy running in the dark and it was definitely a unique experience running at night under the stars. It was the most challenging half because you are running on an incline through loose sand and dust. I’ve been to Joshua Tree multiple times before this trip so I knew it would not be the most scenic race. I would not recommend this race if this is your first time, but I do think it was worth the medal 🙂 If you decide to run this race, wear trail shoes and a something to help you with the dusk like a bandanna.

I’ve done 3 Half Marathons, and 1 Full Marathon. This by far had the best scenic view! I injured myself a week before the race but that did not stop me from seeing the views of this race. The first 5 miles is all uphill but it’s not as difficult as I thought because you have so many people running around you and the views are just amazing. This is my 2nd Vacation Race and it’s always so organized. I would highly recommend running this half! Exploring the Glacier National Park after the race was a bonus!

This was my first Vacation Race and it was absolutely awesome! For the most part there’s no incline or decline but you have to be careful because you run on some rocky areas. You run in the neighborhood for about 3 miles and there after it will be the most beautiful view of the formation rocks. Then, you will run aside the Glen Canyon Dam which was magnificent. I was happy running this race because it was peaceful and so much more different than running through the cities. I will definitely be running more Vacation Races!

I would highly recommend this run for all first timers! This was my first full marathon, and it was great! From the expo to the course to the people cheering on the side, it was a race I will remember. This may be my first and possibly last marathon but I am so glad I choose this one to do. Running through an unfamiliar city made me more curious and it kept me going. Although after mile 18 was all mental, I am so happy I finished it!

It took me awhile to finally sign up for a half marathon. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into but it was GREAT! Nike puts on a great women’s half marathon and I am sad that they don’t have this run anymore. I enjoyed the views, running through the city and the crowd. Of course, I can’t forget receiving an awesome Tiffany’s necklace made it all worth it at the end!
