Loved everything about the race except for the many (too many) hills. I had done Nashville the month before and I thought that was bad with the hills and the bridge. Nashville was pleasant in comparison to Tulsa. Other than that it was such a fun race. Great crowd support with lots of fireball shot and donut offerings. Ran past many beautiful homes and the near the river. Never lacked on Gatorade or water. Timing clocks on the course. Really appreciated the slice of pizza at the finish. Did not have to stand in line for pizza unlike at other races where the runner has to get the food with a bib ticket after exiting the finish chute. Packet pickup and expo were great. It was smallish (less than Chicago but more than Nashville). Very generous with gloves being handed out. And the delicious cans of Not Beer fizzy water was really nice extra swag. We received puffer vests which was different from getting the usual tshirt. Nothing I would have worn on race day but will be nice for the cold months. Warning about the parking on race day. There is a lot of parking near the course but be careful even if looks ok to park. We ended up with a $50 parking ticket!

Was excited to run in Nashville. Then I saw the released course map and thought Meh with the out and backs. Too late already signed up. Packet pick up was very slow moving line. Not much of an expo. Fleet feet offered to put some extra design printing on back of shirt, which probably contributed to the back up. Why not just have the design on the shirt? Pick up started at noon which basically breaks your day if you had anything planned. Start of the race was a big cluster. Gear check and bathrooms were inside the stadium and there were 2 extremely long queues due to security check. Gear check should not be so stressful. Only reason I got to race start on time was because people in line gave up. The course was quite hilly. Running up the bridge was no joke. Scenery was ok. Ran through some nice trendy areas. There was one section after the bridge that was industrial and blah. Never got any gels as mentioned for the hydration/nutrition stations. I am so glad I brought my own pack with fluids and a few gels/chews. Do not count on the race organizers to provide that. Can only rely on self. I could have used an extra gel. I was wiped from the return run up the bridge. Overall I am fine that I did the race but not sure if it was worth the time and money to travel to Nashville for it. I cannot say I would recommend this race.

The course was not as initially communicated. Basically ran back and forth several times on the same park path. As I recall each leg was about 2 miles. I thought we would run near past white rock lake. I started getting confused on how many times I had run the out and backs. The Gatorade was pretty much colored water. Glad I had my own camelbak that day. The volunteers were great. Happy that some kind of fluid was being handed out. It was hot but at least there was some shade in the park. Not much swag. It was a heavy cotton tshirt. Would not wear that in the July weather. Some granola bars offered at the end. I would say no to running this race again.

Packet pickup was fairly easy with going to a local sporting goods store. No expo. Just a quick in and out to get your race bib. Not much swag given other than kombucha powder mix. Ample parking near the event. Expect there to be lots of cars heading to the same destination The race could have started earlier since it is hotter than heck. It did not take much time for it to heat up. There’s not much shade and running on the asphalt next to vehicle traffic made it even worse. I did appreciate the refreshments during the course. Loved the wet shop towel and the pickle juice. It was so incredibly sunny and hot so much thanks to the volunteers for being out there. The after event did have a lot of beverages so that was nice to try different brands of energy drinks. I would not do this event again due to the extreme heat. My advice is that runners bring their own hydration pack.

Easy packet pick up at the convention center. Expo was a good size. Not ginormous like Chicago but enough stuff to buy to do damage to your wallet. Great course with no out and backs. So cool going through the neighborhoods. It was lovely with all the support of the spectators. There water and Gatorade and Gu. Not lacking for anything. Top notch runner support. Received a knit hat at the race finish. It was actually a great thing to have a my body temp started dropping after the run. Pizza and beer at the end of the race. Medal engraving for additional cost. It was such a fun time. Positive experience which got me hooked on running in more events. I would recommend this to a first timer given the flat course and overall great vibe of the entire event.
