I’m not the most competitive runner, but I love the atmosphere of a race and running with others. This race is great because the atmosphere is not intimidating, and I felt that the race accommodated all running abilities. I had a lot of fun, and would 100% run again!

This is run efficiently and our house for packet pick up on the day of the race. They did start to charge this year, but it was an affordable $5 dollars. This is extremely important. We no longer do the races that force free packet pick up or large mailing charges because we live out of state. Races should allow day of packet pick up, at least for people who come from out of state just to participate. That alone is a huge expense. I work for an organization that puts on a hug two day event with 5k, 1/2 marathon, and bike event up to 100 miles and we allow for packet pick up the day of with no problems. As long as this option is still allowed, we will continue to participate every year and drive from out of state.

Very fun race embedded in a Chicago neighborhood that takes advantage of this for good pre and post race entertainment! Well organized, with actual dim sum in the end, music and dancing both in the starting and finish lines and very nice views of Lake Michigan during the run.
Too much plastic
This was a great race, well organized, lots of fun, good course along the lake front. But everywhere was plastic....there has to be a better way to manage these runs … MORE
This was a great race, well organized, lots of fun, good course along the lake front. But everywhere was plastic….there has to be a better way to manage these runs without all the plastic. Plastic is mostly not recyclable, doesn’t degrade, is toxic as it devolves into micro and nanoplastics and is strangling our environment and seriously detrimental to human health. If we are out doing healthy running, we should also not be adding to the environmental catastrophe of single use plastics.
