Susan Olson's Staging Area

Smooth race! Fun and super easy to get to if you stay at the Hyatt hotel! Had a great time with friends and family. The weather was perfect this year too. Race loot was plentiful and people were so friendly and helpful. So much to see and do around the area too. Friends also ubered from Anaheim and made it to the race without a problem as well. Not sure about parking if you were driving and running, it was sooo convenient to stay at the hotel sponsored with the race. I highly recommend. 🙂

I misread the start of the race and got on the bus with the 1/2 marathoners. Signed up to do the quarter. I got to the top and realized everyone I was riding the bus with was a 1/2 marathoner. So I did the 1/2 marathon unprepared. The Uberthons crew was great and I finished with a new friend. 🙂 beautiful course, would love to go back and bike it.

I loved running through the country in St.Paul. It was a beautiful day and seeing the farmers and roses was so relaxing. Uberthons as usual Puts on a great race.

This race started in the hail and rain! It was cold and wet for the first hour. I learned if the weather is going to be rainy, having a garbage bag will help you stay warm and dry until the gun goes off. Met some neat people and loved the kindness of the volunteers. The only bad part was: at the expo the day before, the race organizers charged for parking. I thought that was not good to charge for parking during the race and for the packet pick up. Other than that this was a great race!!!!!!!!!

They didn’t have the fleeces and hats as promised for all runners. Said they got caught in customs. The race was NOT closed off from pedestrians and bikes. I was clipped and many other runners were clipped by a bicyclist and the race path was not monitored for safety. They ran out of water at mile 2, so my race partner was dehydrated by mile 5 and ended up taking a van to the finish. They closed down all of the food and water by the time we finished. And the race was not a quarter marathon. My running app said it was closer to 8 miles. Volunteer agreed that the race measurements were not correct. Overall this was the worst race I have ever been a part of. This race should be cancelled next year. It’s too dangerous. The entire race you had bikers zooming by on either side of you. Terrible!!

The Uberthons atmosphere is friendly and motivating. The crowd a good mix of excellent runners to people out for a leisurley walk to finish eating chocolate. This race was a lot of fun and was inexpensive.

Well run and fun To go through the OC Fair grounds. It was a while ago so I don’t remember all the details. The event staff was professional and the race was cool.
