Hey! Can you spare some change? Puns aside, there will be no nickel & diming when the Chicago Quarter Marathon, celebrating its fourth year in 2017, moves to its NEW LOCATION at Columbus and Balbo on the south end of Grant Park. (In past years, it was held outside Soldier Field.)
This truly unique 6.55-mile sprint along the city’s scenic lakefront is one of the first warm-weather runs of the year. All participants receive a finisher medal. And to top things off, theres also course route entertainment plus a post-race party featuring more entertainment and a few other goodies.
For those looking to celebrate the spring, the Chicago Quarter Marathon is a one-of-a-kind (and fun!) running challenge.

They didn’t have the fleeces and hats as promised for all runners. Said they got caught in customs. The race was NOT closed off from pedestrians and bikes. I was clipped and many other runners were clipped by a bicyclist and the race path was not monitored for safety. They ran out of water at mile 2, so my race partner was dehydrated by mile 5 and ended up taking a van to the finish. They closed down all of the food and water by the time we finished. And the race was not a quarter marathon. My running app said it was closer to 8 miles. Volunteer agreed that the race measurements were not correct. Overall this was the worst race I have ever been a part of. This race should be cancelled next year. It’s too dangerous. The entire race you had bikers zooming by on either side of you. Terrible!!
