This year was my 6th year running The Cowtown and I do not think it will ever disappoint. Great course, crowd support, and volunteers. If you have not ever run The Cowtown you should give it a try.

Wow! This is my second marathon and my second Chicago Marathon. Going lottery and getting in two years running was not expected but I’ll take it.
I love this race and would do it again if given the chance. The spectators are spirited and loud and provide a constant stream of energy which keeps you going at all stages of the race.
The volunteers were incredible and efficient and my hat is off to each and every one of them. Thank you thank you thank you.
Organization of the event was, once again, top notch. I cannot imagine how much planning goes into an event of this magnitude but it is appreciated.
Thank you Chicago for a truly epic time and now I have a new PR and it’s on to the next one.

This wasn’t a great race nor was it a horrible race. I did not like that there was not race day packet pickup without paying $30. As an out of towner it was less than convenient to get to the packet pickup on that Friday and without adequate directions. I was able to find it but I wish it could have been better mapped out.
The number of participants was good and wasn’t too many and wasn’t too small.
Course volunteers were awesome and water stations nicely spread out.
Swag and medal were nice and I will likely don another of these at some point if my schedule permits.
Overall an average to slightly above average experience.

I was not always a runner but I am now and I have run The Cowtown 10K once and the Half twice. I love this race and not just because it is in my hometown but because it is a fantastic event every year. This year the weather was fantastic (last year was interesting to say the least but that is a different story for a different time) and the support around the course was equally awesome. I love Fort Worth and I cannot imagine not running this race each and every year. As far as difficulty of the terrain there are some hills and they will test you but in a good way.
