In 2024, the weather made this race an adventure- rain, snow, and sleet! It tours through old town, then a 17 mile out and back along the lake – all pretty flat. I wouldn’t recommend for marathoners slower than 4 hours – half marathoners starting later overtake you aggressively and there’s no separate finish line. Nice medal and fantastic t-shirt.

Zurich marathon is absolutely flat which means good for PB! It starts at the lake and takes the runners to downtown first. Then you have to run all along the lake Zurich which is a little bit boring. At km 25 you turn back all the way to downtown again. Weather was horrible with rain, hail and snow, but that should not be normal in April.
