Celebrate Independence Day with a scenic run along the Pacific Ocean and enjoy Village Runner’s annual 5K and Firecracker Dash this July! All participants will receive an Independence Day run t-shirt. There will be chip timing, age division awards, and cash prizes to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run. All kids dash finishers receive medals too!
There will be a Costume Contest at the stage in the Coffee Cartel parking lot from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Please enter with your patriotic best for a chance to win gift certificates to the Village Runner.
Celebrate and give back to our local students. The Village Runner Independence Day 5K directly benefits the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and other local schools and running programs. A portion of your registration fee from this race goes to these deserving groups each year.

This is a fun local race that’s a perfect way to start the 4th every year. Course is fairly easy but very scenic with ocean views for much of it. The crowd is great…lots of families and serious runners as well. The event is well organizef. Swag is good…shirts are made of cotton bit nice cut and design. Its one I can wear with jeans any time.
