Fun and challenging race through a unique and fun city! Race starts at the community center with real bathrooms and place to stay warm before the race. All proceeds are donated to the center from the event. Decent amount of parking, 75 runners in the 10K and 100+ in the mile race. Both races start at the same time in different directions, so no interaction.
First 3 miles are fast down hill on 2 lane road through town, not much traffic, and only moderate amount of police/traffic control. You turn around and run back on a different route through a different part of town, up 500′ in about 2 miles, then a rolling last mile back to the start. One water stop half way. One porta potty half way as well.
Post race was 20+ homemade soups, so many lovely ones to choose from. Medal and shirt were both nice. Packet pickup was at a local brewery/Biergarten, very easy and fast with good parking as well. Age group awards were handmade locally and quite lovely, i was fortunate to win my age group so i got to take one home along with a gift card to a local BBQ place that also sponsored the race.
