Race day pick was at the start/ finish line for this out and back course. The race started at a beach park. Within the first mile the first of many rolling climbs appeared. The course meandered through the neighborhoods of Thai coastal community. There were occasional beaches and ocean views but due to the rain and fog the lighthouses the race is named after were not visible from the route. As this was an out and back course, we were rewarded with a downhill and finally a flat finish over the last mile.
Aid stations provided water & electrolytes every 1 1/2 miles or so. There were also occasional electrolyte packages. The event volunteers and law enforcement were friendly. One negative- there were not enough restrooms on the course. There was one near mile 5. I lost 10 minutes waiting in line off of my time at the single portable restroom at that location.
The finisher medal and shirt were fairly nice for a smaller event. Views at the finish line would’ve been enjoyable on a nicer day.
This was a hilly but well
Organized event.
Soggy run on a scenic course.

This race was pretty hilly. For the course being on the coast, I was expecting to see the ocean quite a bit and instead there were two sections that were brief with sight of the ocean. I did not see the twin lights at all! The course was well maintained with trying to keep traffic to the side and the run was completely on one half of road/sidewalk at all times. The post-race food was great though and had delicious bagels, bananas, water, energy gels, and a type of granola bar. There were also plenty of water stations on the course that supplied an electrolyte beverage, water, and some stations had gels.

I’m a 50 stater and needed Mass. This wasn’t the race I wanted to run….but was glad in a pandemic I was able to get in the state. YuKan is a great company that lets you change your race to one of their other races if problems arise…..which is what I had to do because of Covid. This was a small race with packet pick-up right at the start with plenty of parking. I thought it was supposed to be flat….but it wasn’t. I have not run in a long time due to injuries and I was 2 .5 weeks post-surgery. I was so nervous about the 3-hour cut-off time that it forced me to run most of the race except the hills….I had to walk a few of them. Most of the race was through local neighborhoods…..I liked running through Rockport…..cute town. Would have liked to see more of the coast or a lighthouse…..but didn’t. All in all a good race and got to check off Mass.
