Tirana is a very interesting city and Albania a country that is absolutely worth to visit! The half marathon which is called Tirana Marathon is a 2 lap-course which starts in downtown on the main square in front of the opera house. The course take runners through downtown and leads to a lake. Most of the course is along the lake which is quite nice as you don´t have to run on the street. Unfortunately there were no km markers, but refreshment stations very frequently. The atmosphere of the race was very good, especially on the square. Very well organized.
