The annual Gobbler Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will take place at Mereworth Farm in West Lexington. Earn your Thanksgiving feast the following Thursday with a scenic Half Marathon, 10K or 5K through beautiful bluegrass horse country.
This scenic half marathon course will traverse through beautiful horse country and past a number of our horse farms. All registrants receive a long sleeved performance T-shirt (while they last). Overall, Age Group awards, DJ, free post race massage, race photos, chip timing, post race eats, West Sixth beer ($4 donation) and lots of Gobbler fun!
Commemorative long sleeved shirts (mens/womens sized) are on a first come first serve basis. When you register if your size is not available you can either select another size or “no shirt option”. We will have a SHIRT SWAP immediately following the race for anyone who either did not receive a shirt or got a size that they would like to trade with another participant. If we have race no shows their shirts will be available for swap following the race.
There will be a 15 minute/mile (3:15 total time) pace limit imposed for the half marathon race per contract with the City of Lexington. ForWord Pacing will provide pacers for the half marathon with finish times of 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, 3:00, 3:15, 3:30 (sweeper). Walkers and strollers are welcomed in the 10K and 5K races. No dogs are allowed. Awards can be claimed at our Awards Tent following the race.
Our race charitable beneficiaries will be Glean KY and New Vocations Racehorse Adoption. We will also be collecting canned/non perishable goods at our packet pickup and on race morning. We’ll get whatever is donated to local food banks who can get this food to those in need. Thanks in advance to those who can help out.

The Gobbler is a beautiful course running through horse farms and along a golf course. The scenery is really pretty, and it’s along well-maintained roads. There are no really huge elevation changes, but most of the course is small, rolling hills. The 2-hour pacer that I followed the whole way did a great job, and the aid stations were frequent and well-stocked. Not much in the way of spectators though.
