Ran mostly next to Lake Pochatrain, over four bridges… one bridge we did twice. There was no traffic even when we race through a nice neighborhood. The race director kept us notified of any changes with the course because of the weather, it was great communication before race day. Nice after party, the only issue is why did everyone get the same medal?! I did the Half-Marathon and received the same medal as my husband that did the 5k and his brother that did the 10k.

Good race. Really appreciated the rice and beans post race meal. The course was beautiful however would have been better with more scenery. It was an out and back with a few loops. Next time have the race banner for pics match the distance. It said 8K yet the options were half, 10K and a mile. The water and gatorade stops were adequate which was great.

I think this company has the only races run in New Orleans and you run along the lakeshore so you see lots of a lake and not much else. There were 40 states and 8 countries here because wanted a race in New Orleans. They played the Irish national anthem which was different. . The road was closed so you had plenty of room to run . Can’t remember the last race I ran where no one bumped me. The course had a four time minute which was amazing since there was no marathon, there were lots of water stations and I was surprised at the number that had gels. Plenty of places to park and the race started on time. Communication was good. At end of race they had gumbo and there was no line for us the beer, You could pick up your packet the day of the race. The course was flat but boring and so I took no pictures on the course . Weather was great – slight wind and cloud cover the entire race.i don’t think I paid much for the race but was disappointed in unisex cotton shirt. I would have paid more for womens tech shirt. Small race so I came in first- that never happens and I got the same race medal with a different ribbon, That was more disappointing than the race shirt.
