It was a very hot, steamy day. There were only 5 water stops. 1.5, 3, 6.5, 10, 11.5. There was no ice, no gatorade, no gels, no medical tents. This race, was in my opinion, actualy dangerous, with the heat and NO support on the course. The water stops only had hot water bottles (from sitting out in the sun). At the finish, there was also hot water. no food at the finish. the only food was pulled pork and potatoe salad. not exactly what i want after a grueling 13.1 mile race in the heat. pathetic.

It was a very hot, steamy day. There were only 5 water stops. 1.5, 3, 6.5, 10, 11.5. There was no ice, no gatorade, no gels, no medical tents. Race starts and ends in beach parking lot with real restrooms very close. Miles marked, plenty of water stations, restooms and portapots on course, a few pacers, enthusiastic couse helpers. Course is asphalt road not closed to traffic. Nice shirt and spinning medal (see photo). Great bbq and sides provided at end of race. Results and free photos posted day of race.

Great event put on by great people. The Sandbar food at the end is the best. Great shirts and medals. Plenty of water on the course, of which I took full advantage of. The heat and humidity led to my worst race ever. The course should be ran in the opposite direction. This would eliminate a lot of the sun in the later hours and force runners to run as they are supposed to, against traffic.
