The Rio de Janeiro Half Marathon will depart in São Conrado and arrive at Aterro do Flamengo, allowing athletes to participate in the best, most beautiful and fastest test of the country. There will also be the Super 5K, with departure and arrival at Aterro do Flamengo, for those who like smaller distances and want to be part of the party.
The event, one of the most traditional in the country, will continue with the program held in 2018, such as the delivery of kits and EXPO Athlete in Marina da Glória. The result was positive, attending better to the athletes, avoiding queues and delay in the withdrawal of the kit, as well as being able to enjoy EXPO more. The space in Marina da Glória had about 3 thousand m2 of covered area, with several advantages for the corridors. In addition to being adjacent to the Santos Dumont Airport, which favors athletes from other states, it still has many parking spaces.

Rio Half Marathon is amazing! The course is as beautiful as a course can be! Start is at famous Ipanema Beach! From there the course takes runners to Copacabana before the course turns left towards Botafogo and Flamengo from where you have spectacular views of sugarloaf. Runners pass by the marina of Rio, hit downtown before the course turns back to Flamengo where the half marathon comes to an end! In the finish zone you’ve got a perfect view of sugar loaf for a perfect medal picture! Weather conditions were hot this year, but should normally be a bit better. It was the hottest day of the week – bad luck! But it was sunny! The expo is well organised and quite big! As the race is very popular and many participants take part in the race waiting time at the numbers pick up is quite long. Try to be there as early as you can! In the race package you find gel and bars! A nice T-Shirt could be ordered for a good price
with the registration! All in all a MUST-RUN-RACE! And last, but not least: I’ve never seen so many photographers taking pictures of the runners! I can’t wait to see all the pictures!
