Ragnar Trail Wisconsin is back and it’s still the best running party under the stars. Runners come together at Nine Mile Forest – nestled ten miles outside of Wisconsin’s outdoor mecca, Wausau. Nine Mile Forest is known for cross-country ski trails but when the snow melts, there are miles of epic single-track running trails waiting just for you.
Your team of 8 (of 4) runners will set out to conquer a series of three challenging trails that meander under a canopy of oak, pine and birch trees. And when the sun goes down, run the night away with headlamps and a billion stars lighting the way. Just because this is the Midwest, doesn’t mean the route won’t be technical as you hop over roots and rocks, so get ready for a challenge. Any level of runner can come to conquer these twisty turny trails as you find yourself in this journey of adventure, self-discovery and sheer nature-loving goodness.

The courses were amazing and scenic. The red trail was challenging yet fun!
Volunteers did a great job re-filling coffee, water, hot chocolate stations.
They have a medic tent and supplies if you forget necessities.
Such a fun weekend meeting other runners!
One of my favorite races!

I love this race because it’s all about camaraderie while running and camping. The race village is a fun place to chat with runners from all over, as well as enjoy good food, the bonfire, and a beer while cheering. I’ll be back again!
