Race to Remember is a Military non-profit found in Vancouver WA in 2009 by Claudia Cardenas after losing her fiance Jason Vinyard a 20-year Army Veteran stationed in Fort Vancouver WA at the time of his passing.
“Race to Remember” is not just the name of a race but also the name of our military nonprofit which has the intended purpose of ensuring our communities Never Forget the sacrifice(s) that our brave men and women of the military and their families make every day to continue to protect our Freedom. In addition to participating in race events throughout the nation, Race to Remember organize five races a year:

Race to Remember – 911 United We Stand (Sept)

ABOUT THE VETERANS DAY RACE: Race to Remember is proud to once again honor our past and present veterans. “Race to Remember: Veterans Day” race will start with the national anthem salute to all veterans for their service. “Race to Remember: Veterans Day” start and finish will be staged at the Fort Vancouver Way & E 5th St, Vancouver WA 98661. The Half Marathon will start at 8am with a loop around the Fort Vancouver National Trust then out to the waterfront heading east and then back with a loop around the Remembrance Wall and back to Fort Vancouver National Trust. The 5K or 11K Route will start at 8:15am with a loop with a loop around the Fort Vancouver National Trust then out to the waterfront heading east and then back to Fort Vancouver National Trust.

In addition to racing, we organize and participate in other events that honor and support our Veterans with Military care package drives, Honor Flight flag escorts, Honor the Fallen events, Veteran moving assistance, as well as providing opportunities for our local youth to better understand the true meaning behind the Veteran and Memorial Day Holidays. Our ultimate goal is to build partnerships with other organizations in our communities and throughout the nation to help honor and support our past, present and future Military Veterans. Our long term goal is to establishment of a scholarship program for the children and spouses of the Fallen Soldiers.

This course was very fun and fairly flat and fast. A view small inclines and a great awards ceremony along with a top notch post party.
This event has all the trimmings including a custom finishers medal and she also gives out medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.
I would do this race every year if i WERE STILL LIVING IN UREGON/wASHINGTON.
