You are cordially invited to Warsaw – the capital city of Poland – a city worth seeing. Be our guest here and let yourself get carried away by the unforgettable atmosphere of this place. The only thing you need to do in order to fall under its spell is to spend here a few days. Warsaw is an unusual city situated in the centre of Europe, on the intersection of communication routes connecting the West with the East and the North with the South of the Continent. It fascinates visitors with history, climate, monuments. Arouses curiosity with its individualism. Intrigues with its multifaceted culture – the sequel of mutual influence of the Western and Eastern Europe. Adopts changes brought by new epochs and preserves tradition at the same time. Every day, surprises with dynamic growth manifesting itself in the conspicuous changeability of its image.

Hard to believe that it has been 7 years since my first participation in the Warsaw Half. The new course is very similiar to the rounds that one runs on the full marathon in September. The old course finished in the old towns city Center and not on the park underneath the old town. River crossings, residential areas, passing the national soccer stadium, part on a Highway and some parks. Not the dullest course I have run but …
Organisation is good. Entry fee was about 40€. Start in time groups (not enforced). Many alcohol free beer options, water, isotonics in the finish area. Sufficient number of refreshment stops along the course. T shirt had to be paid for on top. Two race photographer companies work there. One had like 3-5 pics for free. The other one had a package with about 40 photos plus vids for about 10 USD. One of the negative points for me: newletter was only sent out in polish language.

Warsaw Half Marathon is a fast growing half marathon in the capital of Poland. Almost 15.000 runners took part in the 14th edition of this race. It´s well organized with a small, but good expo. When registering runners can decide if they wanna ad a race T-shirt for 30 Euro. Normally I never buy race shirts, but this time I did, because I liked it. Start of the race is at 10 am on Sunday – due to the time change to summer time I was happy that it was not earlier. The course is absolutely flat – good for PBs. The atmosphere is good with music and a lot of cheering groups. The finish is packed with people cheering the runners. The reason why this race does not get 5 shoes is the absolute boring course. It starts in downtown quite close to the old city, but unfortunately takes runners only to the other side of the river and then back and does not hit the beautiful parts of Warsaw at all. What a pity!
