I really enjoyed the rustic scenery, and the mile-long hill (from mile 2 to 3) was a good challenge/workout. I would not do this race expecting to PR. Parking and race-day registration were easy. The free photos were high quality. My main criticism would be the signage (or lack thereof) on course. I’m glad I looked at the course maps for all 3 distances beforehand — there was a point where 5K turned left to the finish, while 10K turned right for a quick out-and-back, and the half marathon went a little further on that out and back, but that was not very clear. There was a person waving at that point, but clearly some people didn’t know what to do, so a big sign would have been helpful. Similarly, the turnaround for the 10K just said “turn around”, so it was confusing to see people running past it — would be helpful to see a sign that says “10K turn around, Half keep straight”.
