Posted January 7, 2016: Due to ongoing construction at Zable Stadium on the campus of William and Mary, and insufficient sponsorship, the 2016 Patriot Running Festival (Run For The Dream) will be cancelled. Race organizers will take this year to seek out new sponsorship with hopes of returning in 2017 with an even stronger event. If you had deferred your registration to the 2016 event, you will be contacted individually with options for your race entry. We want to thank you for your patience as we’ve worked hard to resolve the needs of the event. Unfortunately, we’re out of time to proceed with the event this year.
If you are a local runner in the Hampton Roads area, we invite you to consider the Chick-fil-A 5K/10K event, held on Memorial Day weekend in Newport News.
Thank you once again to all the runners and volunteers who have made the first 5 years of this event such a joy. We would also like to thank the City of Williamsburg and the College of William and Mary for their cooperation and helpfulness.

However, some runners had trouble with the cobblestone section of the course, particularly those running in minimal or barefoot shoes. Swag was no-frills, but loved finishing in the William & Mary stadium.
