This was a small race with about 150 half marathon participants including pacers at approximately every 15 minutes from 1:40 to 3:15 (course cut off). A really nice option at registration was the option to skip the shirt and finisher’s medal for a discounted price. The course was split between greenways and streets and the scenery was very nice with trees in bloom. The race was well marked, had plenty of volunteers. The aid stations included water and Tailwind plus there were two opportunities each for Huma gels, gummy bears, and pickles. Everyone I encountered on the race was very nice. The race director was actually on course at the turn-around point making sure everyone was doing well and then driving the course picking up signs. I was pacing as the sweeper and he also checked on the last few participants twice to see if there was anything we needed. Age group awards included a jester’s hat and a metal pint glass. My only complaint was parking – the runner’s guide mentioned that we could park in any of the many parking lot options near the start and listed three specific lots. However, one of the lots had signs stating it was a 24/7 paid lot, so we just went to another one a few blocks away that was free. On the walk to the start we saw that plenty of runners parked on the streets. An announcement was made at the start that anyone who had parked at the salon across the street would need to be moved or it would be towed (I don’t recall seeing that specified in the pre-race runner’s guide).

Trivium always has the best race production. Their athlete guide is the most extensive and informative of any race I’ve done.
The race start/finish was staged in a large parking lot, so lots of parking and room for porta potties.
The course had some rolling hills but nothing too bad, and was a mix of roads and greenway.
Age group awards were a jester’s hat.
