About the 26.2 Mile Course
The Ocean City Marathon course will include all the scenic hot spots of the southern tip of OC. The race will start and finish in the inlet parking lot along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The course will cross Isle of Wight Bay into West Ocean City and follow an out-and-back route between miles 2 and 25, making its way to the turn around point at Assateague State Park. The return route finishes at the Inlet but not before following along nearly a mile of the famous Ocean City boardwalk.

My biggest and main concern was the weather, which unfortunately nobody can control. With humidity it was ~86 F. There wasn’t any electrolytes at the early stops (I think they got swamped before I arrived) and I had to slow it down because I was cramping, and it was suspect heat exhaustion cramps. I actually just walked the last 2ish miles. I indirectly know someone that suffered heat stroke and was in the hospital 3 days from running this, so I’m thinking I made the right call.
That aside, the course is very flat and it is definitely scenic. I think they did a good job considering this was the inaugural. I would recommend going forward.
Flat/fast course - 3 miles on boardwalk
Well organized, shirt size swap right at packet pickup, small but nice expo, only one slight uphill, get to splash around and cool down in the ocean after race. MORE

Excelent job on this first time race hats off. The only problem might have been to have a couple more water stations early. the second half seemed closer together as they moved some accross the road. The swag both medal and long sleeve shirt fantastic. the board walk to Assateague Island great layout with unfortunate small shoulder and busy trafic between. Volunteers and support was fantastik and helped manage the road well.
