This is perhaps my favorite race. I really enjoyed running throughout Richmond and the course is very scenic. There is also a lot of crowd support as neighborhoods come out and support the runners. There was plenty of aid stations along the way and the temperature was perfect this year. The after part was great as well, perhaps a little crowded. I recommend arriving a little early to give yourself time to park and get to the starting line. I cut it a little close.

I really enjoyed this race, but be prepared for hills. This is race that you run twice (half marathon once, marathon twice). It doesn’t go through Gettysburg Battlefield, but it is still scenic as you go through several farms. There was plenty of water and aid stations, weather was a little warm the day I ran it, but the clouds kept the temperature down. Don’t expect huge crowds and a big after party. Most of the race I was just on my own except a few other runners. I did like the beer and souvenir cup at the end.

I ran the first Ocean City Marathon and the weather was horrible that particular day. Keep in mind there is no shade on this course, and when I ran it was nearly 90 degrees. I ran a pretty slow 3:56, but it ended up being first in my age group. I was a little disappointed the “award” for first in your age group was just a little tiny key chain. Overall it was a nice low key race. There is good crowd support, but you also go through areas where it is quiet for some time. While the course is flat, there is a relatively large upward climb when you get to Assateague State Park. After party is okay, I was pretty tired and really just left. I would recommend, hopefully weather is better other years.

This was a great race. It is very scenic as it goes through multiple parks and along the coast. Unfortunately it was unusually hot and humid this day, which resulted in one of my worst marathon times. There is plenty of aid on the on course. Some of the locations are a little secluded so you won’t have much crowd support. The medal is great and the after party is perhaps one of the best I have had. Lots of food and plenty of drinks.

This was my 2nd time running the Baltimore Running Festival Marathon. I love the race as all the neighborhoods come alive and support the runners. There is very few parts of the race where people are not cheering you on. The course takes you all around Baltimore and it is a great way to explore the city. The medal is great and the after part is fantastic as well.

This is not a race if you are looking for swag and festivities. The race is very flat, and is actually my PR. You run the same part 4 times, which makes it a little repetitive. Parking is difficult, I recommend parking up the street and walking down to the start line. The shirt is basic, as is the medal. The medal doesn’t specify if you did the half or the full, they are all the same. When the race starts everyone is packed together and the trail is not closed to the public, so you will encounter a lot of runners and bike riders.
Plenty of aid stations though, which were well supplied. I didn’t see any gels on my run. Photos from the race were never posted, so if you are hoping for your photo at the finish line that won’t happen. There wasn’t much at the end of the race. There were about 100 pizza boxes just sitting out with no one passing out, it was just a free for all.
I would only recommend this race if you are expecting nothing fancy and just looking for a PR.

This was my first marathon and I had a blast. Plenty of on site parking, course was fun with lots of crowd support. Great post race with beer and food. Great medal too. The hills are pretty tough, especially after mile 20, it was a grind to finish towards the end, make sure you prepare.
