After the extraordinary experiences of “Le Colline di Napoli” and “Events with the Olympic Champion”, the Napoli City Half Marathon was born in 2014.
The beauty of the course, the great indoors sports village and the arrival in the big park and fairgrounds of the Overseas Exhibition aroused enthusiasm and acclaim in the approximately 2,600 athletes reached the finish line of the third edition.
The path, certificate IAAF and AIMS, is Category A (verifiable performance primates and inserted in the national ranking). It runs through many of the most beautiful streets of Naples (Promenade, Old Town); starting and stopping are adjacent to the Village (House of Athletes). The temperature is ideal: in February in Naples runs mostly between 5 and 15 degrees. All services are just a few meters from origin and destination, in large spaces indoors, available to athletes before and after the race.

Napoli Half Marathon is a great race organised by Czeck Run. I love the slogan: All Runners Are Beautiful. Wonderful medal, great Adidas T-Shirt with the slogan on the backside. Nice flat course with only one mentionable uphill part at km 19. I really recommend this race! It was the third time I ran it and it gets better and better!

9,000 people ran the Naples Half Marathon this year. There was a great atmosphere even though it was windy and cold. I agree with the review that said it was a “trail run.” There were potholes and cobblestones and you generally had to look out for your feet. A friend went to pick up his bag after the race, waited 40 minutes and finally just left it there. They have a few wrinkles to iron out.. That said it was a pleasure running along the water and a good excuse to go and see Naples!

The course is mostly flat but has a downhill in the beginning through a tunnel and one runs the same tunnel back in the end (about 80-100m of total altitude change in the race). I called Napoli Half a trail, since the surface of the streets felt partially really like a trail race: cracks and holes and a lot of cobble stone and you had to watch your every step.
Despite that, the race was a great experience. Only in its 5th edition, the organisation was flawless, easy bib pick up in a little convention area, where also the start and finish area was set up; locker rooms available. Water / isotonics every 4-5km and inexpensive race photos (I got 20/ 16 Euro). Pacers started with 1:30h. Carb loading in Italy, seeing Pompeij and hiking Vesuvius added to great trip. Highly recommended with a little patience for the Italian life style (waiting for buses, trains, …)

I ran Napoli Half for the 2nd time as I loved it so much last year. This year it was again a fantastic race – mostly flat and as weather conditions were perfect it was a good race to start with a good time into the season. As last year runners got a nice T-Shirt (without any advertisement on it) only saying Napoli Running on the shirt. The medal was very nice and as Napoli Running has a cooperation with Czech Running they are also using the slogan “All Runners Are Beautiful” which runners who ran in Prague might already know.
The course has changed a bit as due to road construction it´s not possible to run through the city centre anymore. I do hope this will change again for future races as course scenery was better with the old course.

I loved Napoli City Half Marathon .The flat course is very scenic along the coast taking you to the historic center of Naples. Shortly before finishing all runners pass by huge water fountains and Italian classical music makes this moment a very special one. All in all a fantastic race.
