It’s a nice paved trail that has a very gradual decent. It’s basically flat but just a pretty run. Very enjoyable. I only scored a 3 on the production because the shuttles were cancelled so we had to park at the start. They had volunteers take us back to our cars. As a traveler, I needed to start earlier (or on time) since they delayed the race so I wouldn’t miss my flight. I ended up 3rd overall, but because I ran before others (which was the time we should have started) I wasn’t allowed to participate in the overall rewards. Little bummed but it happens and they did their best. I got to the airport with 20 minutes to depart but it all worked out. I’d run this again for sure.

Amazing PR course that is downhill and fast! It’s a point to point route along well maintained, paved trails. The trail was pretty popular on a Saturday morning, so you do have to watch out for cyclists and other people using the trail. The trail is a mix of woodland and farmland and not amazingly scenic, but there are occasional views of stunning rivers and the last stretch through town is fun. We had some shuttle hiccups that interrupted the overall production, but otherwise it’s a well orchestrated race. I would recommend getting someone to drop you at the start to avoid the shuttle loop. Weather-wise this one could be warmer being in late September, but it was overcast and cool enough for some fast running. I’ll probably run this again next time I want a PR. I was able to run sub-2 hrs on this which was my goal.

At the start of the race the weather was cool and drizzly, but as soon as the race started I wished that I did not choose to wear a light windbreaker shell and just ran in a t-shirt.
In the first couple of miles there is a strange out and back. I wondered why the race just did not start a mile or so back on the Foothills Trail. Although I had fun seeing all the runners on that part.
The race had good support with water and I believe NUUN as well. I did not run with a water bottle, so I got water at almost every single station. I had my own gel, and I don’t know if those were offered.
Along the course were beautiful trees and in one area you run over a bridge with rushing water underneath.
At about mile 11.5, there was another weird loop that you do through a neighborhood/golf course, it’s a nice area but again, why not start the race further back?… I’m sure there were logistical reasons why that was done, but it was a little annoying to have to do a loop. I saw a runner getting confused and almost going the wrong way on this. Once you come out of that neighborhood though, it’s a straight shot to the finish.
Overall, this is a good flat course. I like hills and elevation changes, so it was sometimes a little boring, but If you like flat, than this is for you!
Oh, and good post run snacks, granola bars, bananas, chips, etc. cause that’s why people run, right?!
