I have mixed feelings about this event.
The pros: TONS of free race photos. Flat course. Just over 2-mile out and back that breaks up the distance. Very laid-back event.
Cons: Just over 2-mile out and back that can be boring with nothing to look at except sand and water.
State # 13 with half marathon or longer (plus DC & Canada)

The “Monster Dash” in Long Beach had cute medals, I loved them. I love “A Better World” running organization, and run a race a month with them. Their events are very well organized. They hold races in Long Beach, Santa Monica, Van Nuys, and Huntington Beach on a monthly basis. They’re small (about 150 runners), held on the beach or in a park and there’s gatoraid station and a great swag bag (cloth bag) with bananas and snacks and some samples.
