Super small local race with charm. Getting here took 2 days from the states due to timing of flights to Inuvik. Flights from Edmonton on Canadian North were great. I stayed at the Capital Suites, 1 block from the start. Rental cars are hard to come by and expensive $200+/day and gas was $10/gal, but driving to the Arctic Ocean should be part of this race. 3 hour drive up Dempster Highway. Taxi’s were easy to get between airport and town. 6 miles $40
Race was supposed to be out and back to the airport (2 lane paved highway) but there were bears so they kept it in town 4 laps of town for the half and less for the 5k and 10k. Mixture of paved and gravel, small hills. No spectators, 1 water stop, bright sun at midnight. Shirt was good and metal was great! Race director was great to work with and enough communication through their Facebook page.
