The departure of the Marathon will be given in the heart of Dakar, at the place of the Obelisk (boulevard of General de Gaulle).
After a first part in the center, the riders will turn on the Corniche direction the Almadies via the Monument of the Renaissance.
Arrived at the heart of the Almadies, the runners will turn around to go down the Corniche, direction the Independence Square, passing by the Boulevard de la République. The runners will then head towards Cheikh Anta Diop avenue via Blaise Diagne Avenue to reach the Place du Jet d’Eau and descend along the flying cert for a prestigious finish on the Boulevard du Général de Gaulle.
Senegal, West African country, is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, with 530 kilometers of coastline. While the national parks and reserves of rich and diverse fauna and coconut-lined beaches attract foreign visitors, they are also charmed by the unique atmosphere of the country, the picturesque markets, the mixture of civilizations and hospitality inhabitants. Senegal, which proves its worth in tourism, and resolutely turned towards the journey of events.

Dakar Marathon has been my favorite African marathon so far. Perfectly organized. Super atmosphere with thousands of runners! The race starts in downtown taking you to the waterfront and then up to the huge Monument de la Renaissance, then back to downtown. Drinks, oranges, dry fruits etc provided along the course. Super beautiful race T-Shirt, nice medal! Perfectly organized – chapeau!
