This is a small, very well-directed race. We found clean, quiet hotels with exceptionally nice staff only three miles away. The start / finish had plenty of free parking. Adequate facilities, even indoor bathrooms available. The course included rolling hills by horse farms (sadly, did not see any horses) and bike trails. It was well-marked with volunteers providing drinks every 1.5 miles. It was hot enough that some races may have canceled but I am very glad this one started earlier than planned and was successful. I was also worried about the Shaklee electrolyte drink, but my sensitive stomach handled it fine without ever trying it before. Real police actually stopped traffic for us while crossing the only busy road on the course. There were an amazing variety of snack and drink selections to choose from, even after three hours had passed. The swag (T-shirt and medal) was very high-quality material with a leprechaun theme design; we even had the option to take an additional shirt (non-dated) leftover from last year! The overall and age group prizes were branded, practical items like hats, gloves, coffee mugs, thermal cups, gift certificates, etc.

I actually used this race as practice for an upcoming pacing event where I need to finish right at 3 hours. Still not sure I’ll succeed with that one, but this race was phenomenal! The slower pace for me allowed me a chance to enjoy the views (fog for the first 10 miles, horses, cows, rolling fields) and not gonna lie – the camp mug as swag also drew me in. This race company always puts on the best races and I don’t mind the hour+ drive to get to them.

This was a chance for me to run a live race in the middle of a pandemic. The corse went through quite a few farms an d it was great seeing horses. It was a gentle rolling hill course with no big hills but not many pure flat spots. It was an out and back and then an extra out and back for the half marathon. The water stations were a choice of cups or water bottles. It was a great race for during a pandemic.
