Larrabee Lakes is becoming a quick classic in the Evergreen Trail Series. You will get to enjoy smooth trails that wind through beautiful, lush green forests and bring you past picturesque lakes. The unique geology of Larrabee means you’ll also get great views from atop narrow ridgelines that have been bent and molded by time. The peek-a-boo views of Mt. Baker and Bellingham Bay mean you get to enjoy both the shady green forest and beautiful ridgeline views of the Cascades and the ocean, all at the same time!
All distances will start and finish at Fairhaven Park and start towards Larrabee State Park on the Interurban Trail. After the short warm-up on the interurban trail, the real fun (challenge?) begins. This is a tough race with a significant amount of elevation gain. After a steady climb through Aroyo Park, the 12k runners head back toward the finish line while the 25k and 50k runners continue the journey. The longer distance runners continue on up the Lost Lake Trail before the 50k runners wave goodbye and leave for a strenuous out-and-back to the Samish Aid Station. The 25k runners head up the stairs (yup, you read that right!) to the infamous ridge trail to tackle these technical ups and downs before heading back through Aroyo park to the finish. Meanwhile, the 50k runners will make the epic climb from Lake Samish Drive up and over the ridge and down to the Interurban Trail on the west side of the Chuckanuts. Then, you guessed it, it’s back UP! The 50k runners then finally rejoin the 25k course along the ridge. We hope you left some gas in your tank to tackle those punchy climbs and drops along the ridge!

Absolutely love the Larrabee Lakes race! I ran the 50K last year in its inaugural year and came back this year for the 12K. Totally plan on coming back next year for the 25K so I get to cover all the distances. The race is super well organized with so many beautiful views. The course is well marked for all runners and there are great snacks at the finish line. Overall, just a fantastic race and I’m excited to come back year after year!

I always love visiting the Bellingham area so having an ultra that starts and ends there is great. The course is wonderful going around Chuckanut Mountain and Lost Lakes; it is extremely beautiful. It doesn’t get too technical until you past Lost Lakes and start heading back into town on the Ridge trail; at that point definitely start paying attention.
Evergreen did a really good job marking the course so I was never worried about getting lost. The aid stations were fully stocked with great snacks and friendly volunteers. I also love the wooden medal I got at the end.
I’m definitely doing this one again.

This was my first experience at an Evergreen race and won’t be the last! The LL25k is a highlight reel of the trails around the chuckanuts. The flowing singletrack was such a blast to run on, and there was a great mix of steep and/or rocky sections broken up by easier terrain. It packs a punch with 3,000′ of climbing, but those views of Baker from the top of the ridge are worth it.
All around wonderful production and hosts. Can’t wait to run another one of their events.

Very runnable terrain with enough vert to make the legs burn. The descent down the Ridge Trail is unforgettable! Volunteers were friendly and helpful. The folks at Lost Lake Aid Station offered me everything under the sun, too bad I was too nauseous for the bacon! lol Would recommend this race if you’re looking for a fun and challenging course with beautiful scenery.
