From registration, to packet pickup, to race day, and the after party everything went well and was fun. Well oiled machine that was fun and enjoyable. The race shirts are super soft and well made. Everyone was so happy and encouraging at the aide stations, even getting chased by an axe-wielding child was hilarious.

Ran my first Jackass in 2023 with no prior half marathon running, ran it and loved it! Didn’t love my time but still was excited for 2024. This year I absolutely loved every moment of the race. The aide stations, and finish line was amazing. I got a PR and cannot wait to run it again next year!!

This is a gentle downhill course from point A to B with only 2 hills. The first is a very gentle incline after mile 7. The second is a decent … MORE
This is a gentle downhill course from point A to B with only 2 hills. The first is a very gentle incline after mile 7. The second is a decent hill in mile 12 but then the finish is literally right around the corner and down. I really liked the mimosas offered at the start lol. The course is pretty unremarkable. A paved bike path and about a mile on road for the turnaround. Nothing that sticks out as super scenic. The aid stations were well stocked. There were plenty of volunteers. You got to pick out what color shirt/tank/long sleeve/ (or sweatshirt for extra) you wanted for swag which was cool and then they screen printed the logo for you to pickup at the finish. The medals were cute. Overall a good Idaho race.

Beautiful course along the Trail of the Coeur d’ Alenes from Wallace to Kellogg, ID. The race organizers outdo themselves every year by adding new twists to the event and by being receptive to runner feedback. The mark of a great race is that the fun doesn’t end when you cross the finish line – the post-race scene at the Jackass Race was awesome! I’m a repeat runner (all four years!) and will keep coming back for this race.

This is still one of my favorite races, and I plan to do it yearly, the course is extremely fun with a dash of challenge, there are some extremely beautiful areas you get to run through as well.
I have some complaints nonetheless.
Mostly the race photos costing $15 each. I love that they use a local photographer, but when NegativeSplit hosts 90% of the races in the areas and their photos are included, it’s tough to see a price tag of $60 for 4 digital download photos.
The other thing I noticed this year was a lack of food vendors at the finish line compared to last year. I had less incentive to stick around this year than in 2022. I love buying food after a long race lol.

This was my first year running the Jackass half and I loved it! Beautiful course, awesome aid stations and fun vibes all around! I really loved the shirts, you get to pick your color ahead of time and the quality was great. The “metals” were super unique too. Beware, there is a challenging hill at mile 12, and a less intense incline at mile 8, but otherwise a flat, downhill fast course. Hope to do it again!
