The Islamorada Half Marathon in the Florida Keys is famous for the stunning sunrise as you pass over Whale Harbor Bridge and onto the old highway through the Islamorada Village, as you make your way towards Indian Key where more ocean views await. This scenic southbound course returns north, to the Postcard Inn, highlighting some of Islamorada’s most sought-after ocean views.
The Islamorada 10K is famous for our stunning sunrise as you pass over Whale Harbor Bridge and onto the old highway through the Islamorada Village.
The Rimrunner Run 5K features a stunning, flat course on one of the most beautiful islands in the Florida Keys.
The Beach N’ Beer Mile will be hosted at Postcard Inn in Islamorada with a start and finish line on the peninsula of Bimini Row surrounded by the ocean on all sides. This event takes place entirely on the Postcard Inn property with a simple quarter mile course as you drink a beer every quarter mile!
The Beer Mile is quite simple: 1 Mile and 4 BEERS. Do you have what it takes? All registrations come with an event t-shirt and 4 beers.*Must be over 21 on race day in order to register for this event.
THE PARTY. The day(s) leading into the race as well as immediately following the race, be prepared for some fun. We’ll be celebrating with live music on the beach and in the “World Famous Tiki Bar” the entire time. Every runner will enjoy a free Rumrunner or beer after the race. We’ll be providing plenty of post race snacks and the resort will have plenty more goodies to choose from.
Our events are located in one of the most sought after destinations in the U.S.A, the Florida Keys. Islamorada, known as the “Sportfishing Capital of the World” is located just 1.5 hours south of Miami (2 hours from Ft. Lauderdale) and 80 miles to Key West. The Postcard Inn in Islamorada will be hosting these great events. Whether it’s diving, fishing, or drinks at sunset, Islamorada is a spot like no other. To start, the number of porta potties at the start was shockingly low. I stood in line for probably 20 minutes and just made it to the start line in time.
While the course was scenic, they didn’t stop traffic at all so we basically ran right alongside traffic moving at 45 mph+. And just as I was coming up on mile 10, I was passed by a speeding SUV and a bunch of cop cars. The SUV ended up crashing about a quarter mile in front of the finish line – I can’t believe no one was hit! While that was obviously unexpected and unpredictable, I do feel like having us run right alongside traffic on the highway was risky.
It was hot and humid, so the beer at the afterparty was a welcome relief. Maybe I missed it, but all I saw for food was granola bars and bananas, cut in half and already brown.
All in all, not my favorite race but I’m glad I checked off Florida

Missed the party at the Florida Keys Brewing Co, but would love to go this year. This is the only race I want to repeat. Just go, you won’t regret it!
Rumrunner 5k and Beer mile Saturday were a blast too!
Only downside was that this was VERY HOT for this Maine girl- 80 degrees! Somewhat shady course though!

Note – this years race – December 2017’s was moved to Feb 2018 due to hurricane. Moving back to Dec for this years race.
We ran this race to do a good half marathon while we were on vacation in Miami Fl. The race is on the Fl Keys – Islamorada. About half way thru the Keys. About 1.5 hours from Miami.
We drove from Miami the morning of the race. Race started at 7 am. Course was very nice and mostly flat with ocean views. It was sunny and warm this year so it was hard on us after not running in warm weather for 4 months.
Staging was good and race volunteers were great.
Water stops frequent and adequate. So to sum up. Good small half marathon to run if you are in the area. Wouldn’t make a special trip to run it.
