The Greenway Marathon starts and finishes at Percy Priest Dam Trailhead of Stones River Greenway. The Marathon course is out and back to Shelby Park. The Half Marathon Course is out and back to Heartland Park. Water and Gatorade at every 3 miles.

The Greenway Marathon (& Half Marathon) is a low-key and small race along the Stones River Greenway, a popular paved trail for walkers, cyclists, and runners that winds alongside the Stones River.
Runners start and finish the out-and-back course for the race at the Percy Priest Dam, which overlooks the J. Percy Priest Reservoir, about 10 miles east of downtown Nashville. The course is not flat but too hilly. Do not expect a lot of spectators on the course cheering you. This is a more of a meditative run along the peaceful Greenway.

This race will always hold a warm spot in my heart because it was my very first ever full marathon. The volunteers were all amazing and kept me going even though it was warmer than I would have liked on race day. My Greenway Marathon medal is by far my favorite medal in my collection. I look forward to to one day returning to run this race again.

Easy parking at the start and a small race. This was my first marathon and it was almost perfect…. what was not perfect you ask? Only thing was the trail i had never been on and it twisted and split several times and because there were not that many people… I did not know which way to go 2 or 3 times and stopped to wait for the guy/girl behind me to ask which way? Other than that, nice scenery, a little hilly, no cars to deal with and very low key.
