The best part is when runners run through the area of the BUGA (Bundesgartenschau). It´s all easy going and very relaxed!

takes the Franklin Meilenrun place.
Start and finish is in the old US Army baracks east of Mannheim that were left when the army moved in their process of reducing their forces in europe. Abandonned for years now and in the process of getting redeveloped the area is a mix of rubbish dump and an apocalyptic post war zone with trees growing out of the asphalt and a huge left airport field area. The race also features some turns along the highway and over fields. Even though that may sound horrible, I really liked the race and had fun doing it. Sufficient supplies with drinks and a family friendly finisher zone with plenty of food trucks and an playground for children.
