Fontana Days is a local race I look forward to every year. The downhill course practically guarantees a fast finish. The course begins in Lytle Creek with scenic views. Usually, the weather is ideal this time of year and the weather this year was perfect in my opinion. Cool and overcast the entire time. There are just enough runners to make the race competitive, but not overwhelming. Post-race vendors make the experience even more enjoyable.

This is my second time doing this race, I love the first 6/7 mile scenery 😍. I highly recommend to consider it for any first timers on a half due to being downhill.
I just which it was more up beat, music through the hike or sponsors were it pumps you up more to enjoy the last 6 miles. It’s to plain and empty through the run. But overall plan to do it again next year. Also, which the offered photos through the race or at the Finish line.

This is a great course for a PR. The race starts at Lytle Creek and you run downhill the entire 13.1 miles. The first three miles are a quick decline. The scenery in Lytle Creek is nice! I appreciate the race started 30 minutes earlier due to the anticipated heat for the day. Water stops were approximately every two miles which was greatly appreciated. I obtained a PR and finished this race 6 minutes and 43 seconds faster than my previous PR!
This is a FAST race

The medals/swag aren’t all that great, but it’s worth it for the personal best time.

You definitely will PR on this fast downhill.
The first half it’s scenery you run through the Lytle Creek community, which runs through the San Bernadino National Forest. The rest of the seven miles is moderate to mostly gradual downhill run for the remainder of the race, all the way to the finish.
Easy downhill
Easy downhill with nice scenery and then ugly scenery around the last 4 miles. Race medal was underwhelming. The real point of this race is to PR. MORE
