Dash Point does not disappoint! This run has all the quintessential PNW sights: sandy beaches, and active wildlife. The course winds through Dash Point State Park — a 398-acre camping park in the Pacific Northwest with 3,300 feet of saltwater shoreline on Puget Sound. The start/finish area has many picnic/BBQ stations and is right by a nice long stretch of sandy beach. This is a great place to bring the whole family for a fun day by the water.
The course starts near the beach and slowly climbs up and away from the water. The trails are well maintained and are great buttery single track to run. Around mile 1.25, those in the Half Marathon will have a separate short lollipop loop they’ll do extra on the course. At mile 2.25, you will hit the high point of the course at the Nightcrawler Aid Station. From here, it’s mostly rolling downhill back towards the finish. There is another lollipop loop to complete as well before you end the lap. The loop is 10k, so those in the Half will do a second loop (including a second “extra” lollipop as they did in the first).
In addition to running, the park is an ideal location to observe wildlife, kayak, skim board, or just relax and enjoy the sandy beach.

the course was clearly marked and the aid stations were nicely placed throughout the course. Due to rain, the course was so muddy and wet in some parts but it was a beautiful run-through dash point. By some sort of miracle, I did not fall and that was my second goal aside from finishing! Would do it again, planning on doing again! Such a fun experience for my fist ever trail run.

This park has a great set up. Trail is full of twists, turns, creeks, stairs and the like. The course is rated as beginner, but it still has plenty of challenges so have to watch where you are stepping. Evergreen Trail Runs completion swag is minimalist but neat. I love the wood carvings. Dash Point is a coaster, so will think of the race whenever use it.

Evergreen Trail Runs has a knack for putting on really fun trail runs that can be enjoyed by every kind of runner, no matter the level of experience. The Dash Point race will make you feel like a kid again, running through the forest. Lots of variation in terrain makes the race fly by and before you know it, you are at the finish! The food afterwards was amazing and really hit the spot. And as always, everyone at these races is super friendly. I can’t say enough about how well these races are organized.
