Kelternplatz Metzingen, Schönbeinstraße, Innere Heerstraße, cycle and pedestrian underpass, Heerstraße, Amtäckerstraße, cycle path to Neuhausen, straight into Rebenstraße/Wendemarke, left into Kelternstraße, Traubenweg, field and cycle path to Dettingen, underpass under L 210 (Dettingen-Kappishäusern), Kappishäuser Straße, right over the Erms and immediately left again into Neuffener Straße, Marktplatz, Uracher Straße, left into Schneckenhofengasse over the Erms, turn right into Kohlplattengasse to the sports field, through the sports field area, exit behind the outdoor pool, through the leisure area to Gustav-Werner-Straße, cross Gustav-Werner-Straße, turn left onto the field and cycle path in the direction of Buchhalde to the junction to Bad Urach, on the field and cycle path (Herdtnerweg) to Bad Urach, Immanuel-Kant-Straße to the sports field at the school centre, across the schoolyard and a lap in the stadium, then the same way back to Metzingen.
10 KM run:
Start in Immanuel-Kant-Straße directly in front of the Alb-Thermen in Bad Urach, then return of the half marathon course
5 KM run:
The start is in Dettingen in Kappishäuser Straße, right into Eichenweg, over Buchenweg, through the underpass under L 210, cycle path to Neuhausen to Kelternstraße, left to the railway line, then along the cycle path to Metzingen to Heerstraße, underpass under railway line, Innere Heerstraße, Hindenburgstraße, Schönbeinstraße, Kelternplatz (finish).

Ermstal Marathon is a perfect event to combine with a shopping weekend in Metzingen Outlet-City! Shopping on Saturday and running on Sunday. The race is well organized and everything is easy going! Start is at Metzingen Kelterplatz which is in downtown. There are some guest houses very close to the start. The course takes you through the fields of the hilly and beautiful area in the south west of Germany. Unfortunately you run 10,5 km into one direction and then all the way back. Drinks (water and iso) as well as sponges are offered almost all the time! Big but not beautiful medal for all finishers as well as a T-Shirt.
