We’ve run this race every year since it started, in 2011. It has a lot of personal memories for us, so we enjoy doing it annually. However – the cost has gone up, the swag has gone down, the organization of the event has gone downhill, and the fans/spectators are non-existent, thus the participation has also decreased. View around the lake is nice. We’ll keep running it, as its local and a tradition for us.
Nice venue but poor production
Fairly flat, all path/streets/concrete. Love the views around Lake Onondaga. Signing up was easy. Rest of production sucked. “Expo” had 2-3 vendors. Got t-shirt but nothing else. Parking was very … MORE
Fairly flat, all path/streets/concrete. Love the views around Lake Onondaga. Signing up was easy. Rest of production sucked. “Expo” had 2-3 vendors. Got t-shirt but nothing else. Parking was very confusing and not clearly marked. Decent number of water/Gatorade stops but only a few had garbage bags or something to throw away cups besides the ground. Will not run it again.

This is a flat out and back course primarily through Onondaga Park and surrounding neighborhoods. As you move further into the park, the trails narrow making it difficult for spectators to access and consequently it can become monotonous. The race organizers value participant feedback and have improved overall organization of the race as well as swag from year to year. Will do it again!

This was my first marathon so I did not have a lot to compare it to. I remember it fondly but the course was not the most exciting. I really like the long sleeve tee that we got.
