The Elk-Kings Trail Races are Tillamook Forest races that will challenge and inspire you. You won’t find a more mountain-like race around. The Elk-Kings Trail Races are rugged, technical, and steep races in the Tillamook Forest — and you will love them!
The 25K course involves 5,800 feet of gain, and the 50K has 7,500 feet of gain since it now also summits both Elk and Kings mountains, just like the 25K always has. You’ll get some long views of the Coast Range, and not just from the summits, but on your way up and down the mountains too. And you’ll also feel like you are deep in the woods when you’re surrounded by some seriously tall ferns.
This Tillamook Forest race is tough, but you are up for it.
Both races finish at the Smith Homestead, near the Tillamook Forest Center. This is where all runners pick up their bibs and where the 50K racers start. The 25K runners take a shuttle to the start near Elk Creek campground.
Awards/Prizes
The top 3 men, women, and non-binary finishers will receive very nice products from some of our sponsors. We give out age group awards too. And, there are many raffle prizes to win.
KOM & QOM & MOM – there are real crowns for this race! The first male, female, and non-binary racers to the top of Elk Mountain, in both distances, are literally crowned King and Queen and Majesty of the Mountain.
