I’ve done this course a lot but never for this race. It’s a double out-and-back bowl-shaped course. You. Will. Get. Hill work. Here. It is not an easy course but it is exceptionally pretty, and there’s a feeling of accomplishment after this one like few local races can bring. Bodies Race company brought it, as always, with a great DJ and motivated volunteers at the aid stations. The staff on hand was quick to correct cup shortages at the water point that was getting low and everybody is just really focused on having a great time at a challenging race.
The race IS largely at a park, so if you’re looking for crowd support, there’s just not any, but the views are great. The medal was a cool doughnut and sprinkles and the sprinkles can move around inside it. The shirt was a nice cotton tshirt with a really great design to it. It’s black with high contrast graphics. I almost wish it was a tech shirt. I know some people are really not into cotton shirts. I see merit to both. I’d wear this shirt out though. People either love or hate the course (I love…) but the doughnuts at the end were a nice treat to placate the haters. I’m scheduled on this course at least two more times this year and in cool weather, believe it or not, it can run really fast. This day was not that day.

I’ve done this course a lot but never for this race. It’s a double out-and-back bowl-shaped course. You. Will. Get. Hill work. Here.
